Events attended
In September 2008 the chorus sang for Soroptimist International of Yorkshire at a Hog Roast fundraising event and donated our fee to their charitable aims which include the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, helping Yorkshire police deal with their anti-trafficking campaign and establishing a school for children in Zimbabwe. The evening raised over £1,000.
Wed 15th Oct 2008 19.30 Woodlands Methodist Church (Malawi Charity)
Thu 23rd Oct 2008 19.30 Menwith Hill (Social), A guided tour around the non-secret comunications centre was followed by a very nice four course dinner and a talk from members of the US and British staff at the base. The chorus reciprocsted by singing a few songs for our hosts.
Fri 5th Dec 2008 19.30 St Wilfred's Church (RNLI Fundraiser) together with other musical and choral groups we supported an evening event raising money for the RNLI. In the first half we sang as a chorus and in the second we provided a quartet.
Fri 13th January Menwith Hill Ladies Night
On 7th March 2009, we competed in the Harrogate Music Festival for Barbershop Choruses and won FIRST PRIZE.
Sunday 13th December 2009 is our annual Christmas dinner in association with the Daytones. The venue is the Wetherby Golf Club.
Wednesday 16th December 2009 we sang for Skipton Rotary Club.
Thursday 17th December 2009 saw us perform for the Harrogate Arts Club
On Saturday 15th March 2010, we triumphed in the Barbershop Chorus section at the Harrogate Arts Festival annual competitions at Harrogate Ladies College
During the late May Bank Holiday, we competed in the National Competition run by the British Association of Barbershop Singers., held at the Harrogate Conference Centre.
On 7th July, we sang for Bishop Monkton WI.
On 21st August we entertained the Southlands Garden Party in Harrogate.
On 4th May 2011, we won the Barbershop section of the Horsforth Music Festival beating the three times previous champions.
