Review of Spring and Summer Events

The Chorus  enjoyed a busy and entertaining spring and summer 2018 with eight engagements between April and August.  Our venues included performances as varied as a vicar’s garden party, W.I., care homes, and of course the 1940’s Day celebrations at Valley Gardens Harrogate.

In June the Chorus welcomed Terry Burns as our new Musical Director.  Terry takes  over the reins for the new Club year from Harold Blackburn who retired from the role after many successful years.  Harold also handed over the duties of Chairman to Keith Riggs.  The committee is currently engaged in revising the chorus’s repertoire, retaining many old favourites and introducing new material.

The Chorus was asked to perform as a surprise at a wedding celebration in Knaresborough.  Emerging, supposedly as waiters, from different points in the dining room we performed six songs, eliciting an excellent response from the diners who particularly enjoyed joining in with us on Sunny Side of the Street, When I’m Sixty four and  Crazy Little Thing Called Love.  A joyful occasion!
